Summer is here as the temperature rises and the children have finished school.
The Canal du Midi is getting busier and the various festivals start to bring colour and activity to the towns and villages.
Now as we are into July the traffic becomes more noticeable and the voices around us become a selection of different languages as more holiday makers arrive to enjoy their taste of the real south of France.
The people who come to enjoy a painting activity are spoiled for choice with the range of subject matter. ‘Should I choose a village scene, that market stall is so colourful, the chateaux and ruins are stunning and the tree lined canal a dreamy, tranquil and cooling place to sit and paint.’
If you have yet to visit this region, make it your destination this year. There is an excellent network of air, rail and road links that make it an attractive proposition and there are plenty of hotels, B&B accommodation, and camping sites to suit all budgets.
I hope to see you soon.
On this site you can read about the range of painting courses, painting days out, painting holidays and regular classes that I run both here in the Languedoc and sometimes elsewhere. From time to time I also do courses in painting furniture and other decorative paint effects.
I have also starting operating painting courses and workshops online. So you can take part from the comfort of your own home.
